Kinmilo Together Time: A Parent–Child Play Plan
Play Together. Grow Together.
1. Connect & Demonstrate
Point to an illustration: 'I found the blue car. Can you find the red car?'
2. Share the Play
Pass the pointer back and forth, taking turns choosing something for the other person to find.
3. Grow Together
Use a visual schedule or picture book to follow three steps and encourage the child to lead.
Inclusive Learning Adaptations
ADHD / high activity: Use 3–5 minute rounds, gentle movement breaks and one clear task at a time.
Autism / ASD: Use predictable routines, demonstrate before asking, give advance notice of changes and respect sensory preferences.
Developmental disability, learning or language differences: Let the child use gestures or their AAC device when gripping a pointer is difficult.
AAC and nonverbal communication: Accept pointing, signing, picture choices, device-based words or gestures; allow ample processing time. Praise participation, not speed.
Key Skills to Practise
Depending on the child's interests, these activities offer opportunities for shared attention, communication, turn-taking, sequencing, fine-motor movements, number concepts and imaginative play.
