Kinmilo Together Time: A Parent–Child Play Plan

Play Together. Grow Together. Explore 180-Piece Wooden Geometric Mosaic Puzzle as a shared parent–child activity. Begin with one short, enjoyable interaction and follow your child's pace.

  1. 1. Connect & demonstrate: Select one example pattern or shape and position its first piece.
  2. 2. Share the play: Take turns placing the next piece while comparing outlines.
  3. 3. Grow together: Let the child invent a design for the adult to imitate.

Inclusive play for ADHD, autism and different developmental or learning needs

Begin with two pieces and a finished visual model; celebrate exploration. Children can join through words, actions, pointing, eye gaze, signs or AAC. Offer short rounds, visual prompts and control over breaks as needed.

Caregiver note: Build moments of connection and participation, not a test of speed or correctness. These are educational practice opportunities, not treatments or guarantees of progress. Follow the specific product's age and safety advice, with supervision around detachable parts.

A Caregiver's Guide to Meaningful Play

Activity 1 – Find the same color

Place just three or four shapes on the table. Point to one and say, “Can you find another red shape?” Let your child indicate by touching, pointing, looking or using an AAC communication method. Celebrate participation without demanding speech.

Activity 2 – Build together, one step at a time

Start with a two-piece pattern. Demonstrate the first step, offer a matching piece and invite your child to finish it. Gradually extend to three or four pieces. Shared turns invite attention, imitation, fine-motor practice and problem-solving.

Activity 3 – Make a story

Use the pieces to build a fish, flower or house. Ask open-ended questions such as “Where does our fish live?” and “What should we make next?” There is no single correct answer.

Inclusive Activity Ideas for Different Learning Needs

Autistic children (ASD): establish a predictable start-and-finish routine, offer a visual example and begin with a limited color choice; respect sensory preferences and allow breaks. Children with ADHD or high activity levels: try short 3–5 minute pattern-building challenges with movement breaks and a clear, achievable goal. Children with developmental delay or intellectual disabilities: use hand-over-hand help only when welcomed, simplify the pattern to one step, repeat familiar tasks and praise effort. Children with fine-motor or physical challenges: use a nonslip work surface, larger pattern layouts and pointing or partner-assisted placement as appropriate.

These activities offer opportunities to practice skills through play; this toy is not a treatment or medical device.

Care, Safety & Documentation

Wipe wooden pieces with a lightly damp cloth and dry fully. Store pieces in the bag after use. Contains small parts; adult supervision is required. Intended for ages 3+. Kinmilo maintains CPC and CE testing documentation for its toy range.
