Build bright animal pictures, one button at a time

Kinmilo's Button Idea picture activity features illustrated pattern cards, a colourful board and rounded plastic peg-style buttons that children place into picture holes to complete animals, shapes and patterns. Its appealing frog design and interchangeable cards offer colourful, repeatable hands-on learning with a caregiver.

Kinmilo Together Time: A Parent–Child Play Plan

1. Connect & demonstrate

Select an easy picture with just a few colours, point to one circle and say, “Here is green. Let's put green here.” Demonstrate pressing one peg gently into the opening and give your child plenty of time to copy, observe or ask for help.

2. Share the play

Take turns choosing coloured buttons, making a row and naming the animal. Say “My green, your orange,” or ask “Where does yellow go?” Accept a finger point, handover, sign, AAC choice or speech as a turn.

3. Grow together

Invite the child to match a pictured pattern independently, finish an alternating colour sequence, count completed buttons, recreate a design from memory or make a new animal story.

Adapt the game for diverse learners

ADHD / high activity: use one card at a time and set a tiny goal of three buttons before a movement break. ASD / autism: preview the finished image, keep buttons organised by colour and offer predictable first–then steps. Developmental, intellectual and language differences: start with a single colour and larger visual cues; communicate using colour cards, pointing, gestures or AAC rather than requiring words.

Product features

Rounded coloured button pieces, multiple picture-pattern designs and a red tray-style play base are shown. The pictures depict several animal and pattern possibilities; the exact component dimensions are not legible in these images.

FAQ

Montessori or Waldorf? Works for open-ended observation, sequencing, colour recognition and shared imaginative storytelling inspired by both approaches.

Does it improve autism or ADHD symptoms? It is an educational play resource, not a treatment or promise of an individual outcome.

Safety and testing? Contains small plastic pieces requiring adult supervision, particularly for children who mouth objects. Kinmilo reports CPC and CE test documentation for its toys.
