Kinmilo Wooden Montessori Learning Boards, Trays & Loose Parts

Build an inviting learning space with beautifully tactile wooden activities for early numeracy, letter recognition, pre-writing, fine-motor coordination and creative sensory play. This one Kinmilo product page brings together a carefully organized family of 12 individually selectable Montessori-inspired materials: READ–CREATE–WRITE board, wooden tracing trays, ten-frame boards, beech numbers, alphabet letters, acorn counters and colorful sensory rice.

Important: Choose one configuration from the Activity Style selector. Each configuration is sold separately; the gallery shows different compatible materials and inspirational combinations. You receive the selected item, not every item shown in every photo.

Five Ways Parents Can Turn Play Into Shared Learning

1. Read, Create, Write

Use the three-part writing board to look at a number together, build its shape with a few small objects in the CREATE section, then draw it in WRITE. Model each step, give the child time to respond, and repeat a familiar number before increasing the difficulty.

2. Count With a Ten-Frame

Place one wooden acorn or suitable counter into each recess. Count aloud slowly, then ask “how many?” Children may respond by pointing, gesturing, speech or an AAC device. Try matching quantities to the wooden numerals.

3. Trace and Explore Letters

Introduce uppercase or lowercase wooden letters one at a time. Invite tracing with a fingertip, sorting familiar initials or placing letters on a tray. Keep activities open-ended and pressure-free.

4. Make a Sensory Writing Tray

For children who can safely use loose sensory materials, add a shallow layer of colorful dry sensory rice to a tray and draw lines or letters with a finger. An adult should stay beside the child and manage all loose material.

5. Encourage Independent Choices

Offer two possible activities, invite a choice, play for a few minutes and finish by returning pieces to their container. Small, predictable routines allow repeated opportunities to practice sequencing, communication and confidence.

Inclusive Play Guide for Caregivers

Autism (ASD): introduce the activity visually, use a predictable first–then sequence, let the child repeat a preferred action, respect sensory boundaries, and avoid requiring speech or eye contact.

ADHD and high activity levels: start with short, hands-on challenges, keep only a few materials visible, and alternate table play with movement breaks.

Developmental delays or intellectual disabilities: use one-step directions, model a single action, offer familiar matching tasks and provide extra processing time.

Fine-motor and physical disabilities: stabilize trays, adapt grip, reduce the number of loose pieces and invite the child to direct a caregiver's hand by gesture or AAC if needed.

Speech and communication differences: incorporate meaningful choices and turn-taking, accepting pointing, signs, communication cards and speech-generating devices.

These games create opportunities to practice everyday skills through supportive interaction. They are not medical treatment and do not promise a specific developmental result.

Measurement guidance: Board measurements refer to the board itself, while number and acorn dimensions refer to individual loose pieces. Stated weights refer to listed products rather than shipping carton dimensions. Boards feature natural wood and carefully routed compartments; variants include beech and a darker walnut ten-frame design. Sensory rice is a separate dry play material.

Safety, Care & Product Compliance

Wipe wooden items with a lightly damp cloth and dry completely; do not immerse in water. Store dry sensory materials away from moisture. The small letters, acorns, numbers and rice require close adult supervision. For ages 3+ with developmentally appropriate supervision; never use loose items with a child who mouths or might swallow them. Kinmilo maintains CPC and CE-related product compliance/test documentation for its children's toy range, available upon request.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does the product include all items shown?

No. The chosen Activity Style is supplied. Each board, letter set, counting accessory and rice material is selected separately.

Can a child with autism, ADHD or developmental delay use these activities?

Yes, a caregiver can adapt a chosen activity with short predictable turns, visual prompts, few pieces and accessible communication. Match challenges to the child's interests and abilities.

Are these Montessori- and Waldorf-inspired?

Yes. The materials encourage Montessori-style hands-on, child-led exploration and Waldorf-style imaginative, tactile play without requiring a formal teaching method.

Which tray works for tactile letter practice?

The individual compartment trays can hold appropriate adult-supervised dry sensory media for finger tracing; the writing board adds separate read, create and write zones.

Are the dimensions different for each style?

Yes. Every board has its own dimensions, and the acorn and numeral sizes describe individual pieces, not a full set.
