Kinmilo Together Time: A Parent–Child Play Plan
Play Together. Grow Together. Share the experience at your child’s pace; no correct speed or spoken response is required.
Connect & demonstrate
Place one large coloured piece beside a matching cup. Say: “Red goes here.” Demonstrate a slow transfer into the cup.
Share the play
Choose two colours. Let your child tell you which one to move with a word, gesture or picture, and swap roles after each transfer.
Grow together
Make an alternating colour pattern or use a simple order such as “pick up, move, drop” while counting the completed transfers.
Inclusive ways to adapt the activity
For ADHD or high activity levels
Begin with one bowl and two cups; alternate moving pieces with brief standing or movement breaks.
For autistic children (ASD)
Introduce colours gradually, demonstrate the full transfer before offering a turn and reduce sound or visual clutter.
For developmental delay, intellectual disability or motor differences
Use the larger, easier-to-grasp pieces first, then introduce tweezers or spoons if appropriate to the child's motor ability.
For children who use AAC, gestures or non-spoken communication
Use visual choices for colours and messages such as my turn, more, finished and help.
Family tips and safety
Contains small loose pieces. Adults must supervise closely; avoid use by children who may mouth or swallow components.
