Kinmilo Together Time: A Parent–Child Play Plan
Play Together. Grow Together. Use your Sound Book English Words as a starting point for relaxed, child-led interaction. Try one short activity, and follow your child's interests, developmental stage and comfort.
- 1. Connect & demonstrate: Choose a favourite picture, letter or sound on the learning surface. Say, “Let's listen to just one.”
- 2. Share the play: Touch or point to the picture, listen together and take turns choosing the next sound; repeat a favourite if your child wishes.
- 3. Grow together: Connect the sound or word with a real object or everyday action, then invite the child to select another example.
Adapt play for ADHD, autism and different learning needs
For children with limited spoken language, model one word while accepting gesture, eye gaze or AAC. For sensory differences, offer low volume and breaks; no verbal repetition is required.
Caregiver tip: Children can respond through speech, gestures, pointing, eye gaze or AAC. Support their choices, avoid forcing performance, and celebrate moments of shared play. These are opportunities for learning and connection, not treatment for ADHD, autism or learning disabilities and not a guarantee of a particular outcome. Follow the product-specific age and safety guidance.
18 themed learning pathways
The pictured content includes fruits, vegetables, wild animals, birds, insects, ocean animals, dinosaurs, vehicles, professions, body/self-awareness, food and drinks, daily items, numbers, shapes, colors and the alphabet. Picture-based topics invite listening, recognition and choice-making with a caregiver.
Caregiver play guide
- First sound: choose a favorite animal picture, press to listen, then invite an imitation, point or AAC response.
- Two-choice listening: ask “car or bus?” while pointing to two pictures. Give generous response time.
- Active attention: children with ADHD may enjoy brief rounds of three sounds, interspersed with a movement game.
- Sensory preferences: autistic children may prefer the same page, predictable sequence or a softer volume. Child-led repetition is welcome.
- Supported play: for children with developmental delays or disabilities, break the activity into just one press and one picture, then connect the word to a real item when possible.
- Family storytelling: build a two-sentence story around a chosen picture: “This is a bird. The bird can fly.”
