Feel textures, explore patterns and move together
The Kinmilo Tactile Sensory Texture Discs feature bright colours and a selection of raised tactile patterns. Arrange them as a touch-and-match game or a supervised floor stepping trail. The gallery shows two disc diameter formats: 10 cm / 3.9 in and 25 cm / 9.8 in. Carry-bag styling is pictured for the smaller set.
Kinmilo Together Time: A Parent–Child Play Plan
Play Together. Grow Together. Use your Tactile Sensory Texture Discs as a starting point for relaxed, child-led interaction. Try one short activity, and follow your child's interests, developmental stage and comfort.
- 1. Connect & demonstrate: Offer one stable surface or texture and invite your child to look, touch or step onto it with support if appropriate.
- 2. Share the play: Play a turn-taking movement game: choose a colour or texture, then walk, reach or touch it together.
- 3. Grow together: Create a short two-stop path or invite the child to choose a preferred texture and direct your next move.
Adapt play for ADHD, autism and different learning needs
Use a secure nonslip setup and adult spotter. Offer hand support and opt-out choices for sensory or motor differences; sitting and touching a texture is also valid participation.
Caregiver tip: Children can respond through speech, gestures, pointing, eye gaze or AAC. Support their choices, avoid forcing performance, and celebrate moments of shared play. These are opportunities for learning and connection, not treatment for ADHD, autism or learning disabilities and not a guarantee of a particular outcome. Follow the product-specific age and safety guidance.
Caregiver activities
- Explore one texture: invite the child to touch a disc with a palm or fingertips and describe it using simple words such as “bumpy,” “lines” or “smooth.”
- Find the match: place two patterned discs in view and ask the child to find the matching colour or texture.
- Make a path: place the larger discs on a stable, flat dry floor and invite the child to move from one safe spot to the next at their own pace with close adult support.
- Follow a pattern: set down red–blue–red, then ask which colour belongs next.
- Communication game: offer “more,” “stop,” “soft,” “different” and “my turn” prompts by gesture, words or AAC.
Adapt for different sensory and learning needs
Autistic children: let the child see and choose each texture before touching it; permit socks, hands-only play or observation instead of barefoot play. ADHD or highly active children: set a brief movement route and visual finish point, then switch to a seated matching game. Developmental or intellectual disabilities: begin with one colour and two surfaces, model a single action and repeat in a predictable order. Limited mobility: use seated hand or foot exploration instead of stepping.
