Hands-On Color, Size and Sequencing Play

The Kinmilo 7-Ring Wooden Stacking Tower turns a simple daily play routine into an inviting lesson in color recognition, size comparison, fine-motor coordination and taking turns. A natural wooden square base and upright hold seven graduated wooden rings and a rounded wooden top. Choose the Soft Pastel or Classic Rainbow design from the options above; each order includes one complete stacking tower in the chosen colorway.

Kinmilo Together Time: A Parent–Child Play Plan

Play Together. Grow Together. Turn Wooden Rainbow Ring Stacking Tower into relaxed parent–child interaction. Begin with a short activity, respond to your child's interests and allow breaks.

  1. 1. Connect & demonstrate: Choose two sturdy pieces and demonstrate stacking or positioning one.
  2. 2. Share the play: Take turns adding pieces to a small shared construction.
  3. 3. Grow together: Build a colour sequence or let the child make a model for you.

Adapt the activity for ADHD, autism and developmental or learning differences

Use a stable base, larger pieces and three-piece tasks when helpful. For children with different communication needs, invite speech, pointing, gesture, eye gaze or AAC. A predictable start, limited choices and a clear stopping point can make play easier to join.

A note for families: Enjoy connection and meaningful participation rather than speed or perfect answers. These activities offer educational practice opportunities, not a medical treatment or a guaranteed developmental outcome. Follow the product's age and safety instructions, especially for detachable components.

How Parents and Caregivers Can Play Together

Activity 1: Start With Two Rings

Place just two rings on a clear tray. Demonstrate how to hold one ring with the fingertips, line up its opening with the upright and gently release it. Offer time to copy the movement. Describe each success with specific language, such as “You lined up the hole.”

Activity 2: Compare Big and Small

Set out three rings of clearly different sizes. Invite your child to find the largest, smallest and middle ring. Put them in order from largest to smallest and then build the tower. Model each step before adding more pieces.

Activity 3: Color Hunt and One-Step Instructions

Name a ring color and invite the child to find it. For a simple matching game, place colored household objects nearby and compare them with the rings. Move from one instruction to two steps as the learner becomes comfortable.

Activity 4: Your Turn, My Turn

Adult and child alternate placing one ring each. Introduce “my turn,” “your turn,” “more” and “finished” with spoken language, gesture or a picture/AAC choice card. Offer a pause between turns to support anticipation and communication.

Activity 5: Build, Unbuild and Tell a Story

Invite the child to assemble the tower, remove rings in reverse order and make a new sequence. Use the rings as pretend story objects, counting together and noticing the changes in height.

Inclusive Learning: Adapt the Activity to Your Child

For autistic children and learners who benefit from predictable routines: present the same short sequence each time—choose a ring, stack it, celebrate completion, put pieces away. A visual first–then cue can make transitions easier. Offer an interest-led choice of colors and avoid requiring eye contact.

For children with ADHD or high activity levels: use two- to three-minute play turns, allow a movement break, and invite a quick “find the next color” challenge. The task can be returned to later without pressure.

For developmental delays, intellectual disabilities or emerging fine-motor skills: reduce the number of rings to two, stabilize the wooden base for the child, and demonstrate the movement hand-over-hand only with the child's agreement. Increase complexity gradually as desired.

For children who communicate without speech: support choices through pointing, gestures and AAC vocabulary such as color, big, small, again, help and stop. Adults can model these words while stacking.

These are flexible learning opportunities, not medical treatment or guaranteed developmental outcomes. A caregiver can prioritize enjoyment, choice and a successful shared interaction.

Montessori and Waldorf-Inspired Play

Display the wooden tower neatly on a low shelf or activity tray for an accessible Montessori-inspired invitation to explore size and order. Its tactile wood and open-ended arranging also lend themselves to Waldorf-inspired imaginative play. Use the child’s interests to guide the pace rather than insisting on one “correct” pattern.

Care and Safety

Clean with a lightly damp cloth and dry immediately. Do not soak wooden components. Recommended for ages 3+ with adult supervision because the set has separate removable pieces. Kinmilo has CPC and CE testing reports for its products.

Frequently Asked Questions

Are the pastel and rainbow colors separate toys?

No. Select one complete tower design using the Colorway option; the different photographs show style choices and play views of the same type of toy.

What are the product dimensions?

Both versions are 14 cm tall. The pastel version has a 6 × 6 cm wooden base, while the classic rainbow version has a 6.5 × 6.5 cm wooden base.

Can it be used with children with autism, ADHD or developmental delays?

Yes. Caregivers can simplify stacking to just two rings, give short visual and spoken prompts, allow movement breaks and model turn-taking or AAC choices to suit each learner’s abilities.

Is the toy compatible with Montessori or Waldorf education?

Yes. Its open-ended hands-on design works well for Montessori-inspired child-led sorting and sequencing and Waldorf-inspired imaginative play.

Does Kinmilo provide safety testing documentation?

Kinmilo maintains CPC and CE testing reports for its products.
