Hands-On Discovery, One Shared Turn at a Time

A hands-on wooden lacing board with removable coloured pegs, laces and pattern examples. Place the pegs, connect them with thread and explore lines, colours and simple sequences.

Kinmilo Together Time: A Parent–Child Play Plan

Play Together. Grow Together.

1. Connect & Demonstrate

Show one peg and one lace. Slowly pass the cord through a peg opening and say, “In… pull… out.” Let your child copy just one step.

2. Share the Play

Play a cooperative path-making game: the parent chooses the first colour, the child picks the next colour, then you take turns guiding the cord from peg to peg.

3. Grow Together

Start with two pegs on a straight line, then try zigzags, colour patterns, copied picture-card routes or self-designed shapes. Invite your child to say, point to or select their next colour.

Play-Based Skill Opportunities

Children can explore two-hand coordination, visual tracking, sequencing, pincer grip opportunities, hand-eye coordination and planning. Small successes and shared enjoyment matter more than completing an exercise independently.

Adaptations for Neurodiverse & Differently Abled Children

  • ADHD / highly active learners: break the activity into one- or two-minute goals, offer choices and movement breaks, then return to a preferred step.
  • Autism / ASD: use a predictable first–then visual schedule; demonstrate with minimal speech if preferred; respect touch and sound sensitivities.
  • Developmental delays: reduce the pieces in view and repeat the simplest movement as often as needed before adding a second step.
  • Intellectual disabilities: offer a consistent action word and matching gesture, such as “turn,” “pull” or “put,” with time to respond.
  • Speech, language or AAC users: model “help,” “again,” “my turn,” “finished,” colour and tool symbols and accept any accessible response.
  • Motor support needs: stabilize the base, move materials within easy reach and provide consent-based assistance as needed.

Parent Tips

Follow your child's pace, comment on what they notice, and practise taking turns rather than correcting every movement. A short, successful play session can be repeated tomorrow.

Safety & Documentation

Supervise all play. Check cords, pegs, fasteners, toy tools and all small pieces for damage; follow age grading and choking-hazard warnings applicable to the selected product. Kinmilo reports CPC and CE testing documentation for its toy range. The activities are for education and family engagement; they do not claim to cure or treat any condition.
