Inclusive Learning Adaptations
ADHD / high activity: Use 3–5 minute rounds, gentle movement breaks and one clear task at a time.
Autism / ASD: Use predictable routines, demonstrate before asking, give advance notice of changes and respect sensory preferences.
Developmental disability, learning or language differences: Keep unused cubes inside a tray, give one instruction at a time and offer two clear choices.
AAC and nonverbal communication: Accept pointing, signing, picture choices, device-based words or gestures; allow ample processing time. Praise participation, not speed.
Key Skills to Practise
Depending on the child's interests, these activities offer opportunities for shared attention, communication, turn-taking, sequencing, fine-motor movements, number concepts and imaginative play.
