Kinmilo Together Time: A Parent–Child Play Plan
Play Together. Grow Together.
1. Connect & Demonstrate
Put one small cube tower on each tray. Say: 'One side has two. This side has three. Which side feels heavier?'
2. Share the Play
Invite the child to place one cube while you place another. Take turns saying 'more', 'less', or pointing to the side that goes down.
3. Grow Together
Make matching towers, predict which side will tilt, then count the difference together.
Adapting Play for Different Learners
- ADHD or high activity: Begin with a 3–5 minute play round, give a movement break and return to a single clear task.
- Autism / ASD: Show the sequence with visual choices, offer predictable turns and avoid forcing eye contact or spoken answers.
- Developmental disability, learning or language differences: Start with only two cube towers and one simple choice; let the child point or use 'more/less' symbol cards instead of speaking.
- Communication differences: Invite the child to answer by pointing, gesture, sign, pictures or an AAC device. Model one short phrase, then pause.
- Sensory differences: Adjust color, sound, number of pieces and environment; stop if play becomes overwhelming.
Parent tip: Follow the child's interests, notice effort and keep play collaborative rather than treating it as a test.
