Kinmilo Together Time: A Parent–Child Play Plan
Play Together. Grow Together.
1. Connect & Demonstrate
Build a short number tower together and count each cube slowly while touching it.
2. Share the Play
Ask the child to add the next cube while you hold the tower. Say: 'My turn to build, your turn to count.'
3. Grow Together
Make groups of ten and ones, build numbers 21–30 and compare two models.
Adapting Play for Different Learners
- ADHD or high activity: Begin with a 3–5 minute play round, give a movement break and return to a single clear task.
- Autism / ASD: Show the sequence with visual choices, offer predictable turns and avoid forcing eye contact or spoken answers.
- Developmental disability, learning or language differences: Begin with numbers 1–5 using a small handful of cubes, then progress to larger numbers only when the child is comfortable.
- Communication differences: Invite the child to answer by pointing, gesture, sign, pictures or an AAC device. Model one short phrase, then pause.
- Sensory differences: Adjust color, sound, number of pieces and environment; stop if play becomes overwhelming.
Parent tip: Follow the child's interests, notice effort and keep play collaborative rather than treating it as a test.
